Welcome to Macquarie Ice Rink

Sydney’s iconic Macquarie Ice Rink, which opened in 1981, has been both a playground and training facility to all levels of skating from recreational, national, international and Olympic champions.

Macquarie Ice Rink is located within Macquarie Shopping Centre, the largest suburban shopping centre in Sydney. It is the only facility in Sydney to provide a full size Olympic rink (60m x 30m) with seating for approximately 2000 people. Let us help you on your skating journey, whether it be as a casual enthusiast or you’re looking to start your skating journey through one of the skating disciplines are offered: from figure skating, short track speed skating and ice hockey.

Learn to Skate Program

The Learn to Skate Program has been designed for skaters from 4 years of age and all ability levels. Our program and classes encourage students to progress at their own pace.

Classes are conducted during school term in group lessons under the guidance of Macquarie Ice Rink's, professionally accredited coaches.

The Learn to Skate curriculum covers the basic skills of ice skating including: balance and gliding safely; forwards and backwards skating; crossovers and turning. A great starting point to then progress into your Ice Skating Journey!

Coffee Club

Running Monday-Friday during the school term, join one of our Professional Coaches for a group lesson in a relaxed learning environment! Beginner Friendly classes run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings!

Kiddies Club

Running Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings during the school term, these group classes are aimed at Preschoolers, providing a fun morning of learning with one of our professional coaches!

School Holiday Camps

Our beginner classes are a great introduction to skating with participants learning important basic skating skills. Keep your child engaged with lessons during the School Holiday break, or use it as a chance to experience our Learn to Skate Classes, before committing to a full term of lessons.

We generally aim to have at least two age groups; Ages 4-6 years old and 7+ years old, running from 9:15am Monday-Friday mornings during the School Holidays. Days and Times are subject to change so please click the button below for more information!

Need to practice your puck handling skills? Open to all Ice Hockey players, we are running Stick and Puck Sessions; a casual environment to come down and practice with the Hockey Netting already set up for you! Click below for more information!
