SKATERS SKATE AT THEIR OWN RISK

Ice Skating can be dangerous, with risk of injury. By Engaging in ice skating, skaters and spectators are deemed to have knowledge of the risks of ice skating, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • injury resulting from collisions or contact with others skaters or other individuals who are on the ice surface;

  • injuries that result from falls;

  • injuries that result from your own or another persons blade;

  • injuries that involve objects that are within the intended path of travel of the skater.

Macquarie Ice Rink STRONGLY RECOMMENDS the use of gloves, helmets, knee and wrist guards whilst skating.


IF YOU HAVE A FALL, IT IS IMPORTANT TO FORM A FIST WITH YOUR HANDS AND NOT SPREAD YOUR FINGERS OUT ON THE ICE SURFACE AS THIS PUTS YOU AT RISK OF ANOTHER SKATER RUNNING OVER YOUR FINGER(S)/HANDS WITH THEIR BLADE.


  • Any patron(s) that are deemed to be acting in an unsafe manner may be asked to leave the premises

  • Vaping/Smoking is prohibited on the premises

  • Consumption of Alcohol is prohibited on the premises, outside of specially designated events and areas during said events

  • Macquarie Ice Rink has a Zero Tolerance Policy towards abuse of our staff.

  • As a condition of entry you agree to follow directions given by members of staff. Directives given by staff are done so for the safety of all patrons.

Entry

  • All persons entering the building are to enter solely through the rinks foyer, passing by the cashier window.

  • All persons must not enter without first speaking to the staff on the cashier window. Being late for a class is no excuse to walk through.

  • All patrons wishing to skate must pay for an applicable entry ticket and Skate Hire if required.

  • Staff at the Macquarie Ice Rink reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from venue any persons deemed to be acting in a unsociable or disingenuous manner.

Refunds

  • Refunds for classes require a medical certificate, otherwise credit can be offered.

  • Refunds for public sessions will be given at the supervisors discretion, providing a valid receipt is held by the patron.

  • Refunds can only be given via the same method of purchase. Card refunds can only be given back to the same card used to make the initial purchase.

  • Refunds for any of our Learn to Skate Classes, Holiday Camps, Coffee Club, Kiddies Club or any other class run by the rink, will not be given for change of mind. Refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances but are not guaranteed.

Locker Hire

  • Lockers are available to Hire for $15, of which $10 will be refunded once the locker key has been returned to the front office.

  • Locker refunds can only be given via the same method or purchase, in the instance of card payment, it can only be refunded onto the card used to make the initial purchase.

  • Lockers are only available to hire for the duration of the session attending.

  • Locker keys must be returned to the front office by the end of day in order to be refunded the key deposit.

Spectators

  • There will be no spectators allowed entry to the rink for the sole purpose of sitting to eat or just to watch. You will be asked to move upstairs to the centres food court.

  • Parents and family members are allowed to spectate from inside the venue, however everyone must check in with the front reception prior to entry.

  • Staff at the Macquarie Ice Rink reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from venue any persons deemed to be acting in a unsociable or disingenuous manner.

Learn to Skate

These classes will be held every week for the term’s duration, with a test held during the last week of classes. You may only attend the class you booked in for, not other levels or days. Attendance will be taken every week of class throughout the term, so please ensure you show up for all of them. Please arrive 20 minutes before your class starts each week to ensure you attend your class on time.

You may NOT skip the queue if you are late for your class. All persons must not enter without first speaking to the staff on the cashier window. Being late for a class is no excuse to walk through.

You have a MAXIMUM of 2 Make Up classes per term, to be used within the term dates as specified on our website. They can be used to attend any other class of the same level as your current class in case you missed your class. You cannot use them to add more classes. No Make Up classes can be used during the first and last weeks of the term.

Your Practice card can be used during any Public Session up to 10 times per term. If you loose or forget your card, you will need to pay entry for the session. No Replacement cards will be given in the case of a lost Practice Card, as they are complimentary. They cannot be used after the expiration date regardless of how many practices remain on the card

Any changes to classes can only be made within the first three weeks with Coach and Manager approval. Availability in classes is also a must. It these conditions aren’t met, no changes to the classes can be made. Any and all changes must be communicated to front office staff to be cross-checked with the coaches attendance list. This includes moving up and down levels.

We do not offer Refunds for change of mind. Should a medical or family emergency occur, with correct documentation, managers will decide upon best course of action. Even with documentation, Refunds nor Credit is guaranteed. Each situation will be dealt with case by case.

Learn to skate class cards

The class card is reusable, and will be topped up at the start of every term after you’ve rebooked your class. This card has your name and assigned number on the back, along with a barcode which must be scanned prior to entry for classes. Please bring this card with you every class, as no card means no entry.

If the card is forgotten, a $10 deposit fee will be charged, which will be refunded upon presenting the class card and receipt to front staff. To replace a missing card, $25 must be paid in full to the front, who will then issue you the replacement card.
