Stick and Puck Sessions
Macquarie Ice Rink’s Stick and Puck sessions are open to all of our Hockey community to come and practice there skills in an informal environment.
When?
Stick and Puck Sessions will be posted on our Session Times page, which can be found by clicking the button below.
Currently they are scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 6:00 - 8:00 am.
Skaters can enter the rink from 5:45am
How Much?
$30 per skater paid to the front window prior to entry.
Coaches can also attend these sessions, paying the same $30
Requirements
All skaters must be in full gear that is designed and constructed for the use of playing Ice Hockey including shoulder, elbow and pants padding, shin guards, and neck laceration protector where applicable, must be worn by all players at all times when on the ice.
All skaters shall wear a helmet of design, material and construction approved for ice hockey, with a chin strap always properly fastened and with the appropriate facial protection as per the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Rulebook.
All skaters are strongly recommended to wear cut-resistant socks, sleeves, or undergarments.
Additional Information
All skaters are to arrive to the rink already wearing as much gear as practicable, including any undergarments/layers they may wish to wear. Changing rooms are available and will be split by gender and age where/when needed.
Coaches are required to wear helmets and full length pants, jackets and Ice-hockey styled gloves while on the ice. A smaller room will be provided for Coaches to utilise during these stick and puck sessions. Coaches are not to be in the other change rooms utilised by other skaters.
No Skater or Coach is to change either into or out of there gear, outside of the allocated rooms.
Showers are not available for use during these sessions.
